There are 2 main types of VR, one type displays tours and the other displays objects.

Virtual Reality Tours - Quick Time and Flash Tours (360º)

A virtual reality tour is a fully circular panoramic image offering a visual experience not possible with regular photos. 360º VR lets you view a scene, such as a room or an outdoor vista, from a central vantage point ... outward in all directions. The panorama can be panned left or right in a complete 360 degree circle ... allowing you to view the scene as if you were standing in the center of the panorama.

Virtual Reality Cube (360º x 180º)

This very unique method, also known as a VR cube, can be very effective in the right circumstances. The viewer not gets to see around in a circle but can also move the mouse up to view to the very top, a full 90º up, or move the mouse down, a full 90º down, to view the very bottom of the VR tour.

Virtual Reality Objects (360º)

A VR object allows the view to see an image of an object. They can rotate the object completely around being able to view all side.
